Privacy policy

How Catalyst Glass and Aluminum collects, uses, and protects your information. Updated 17/05/2026. This page is governed by Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and BC's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

1. Who we are

Catalyst Glass and Aluminum Ltd. ("Catalyst," "we," "our," "us") is a B.C.-registered fenestration company at 25771 102 Ave, Maple Ridge, BC. For privacy questions or to exercise the rights described below, contact us at office@catalystglassandaluminum.com or 1-778-999-3729.

2. What we collect

We collect only the information necessary to respond to your inquiry, prepare your quote, or deliver your project.

You give us: name, company, email, phone, project address, drawings, photos, energy reports, and any other files or messages you submit through our quote request form, contact form, or directly by email or phone.

We collect automatically: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) for security and analytics. We use a privacy-friendly analytics provider that does not set tracking cookies across sites. Our site also stores a single non-tracking preference in your browser's localStorage (your light/dark theme choice).

We do not collect: we do not buy or rent contact lists, we do not use third-party advertising trackers, we do not sell or share your information with marketing networks.

3. How we use it

We use the information you give us to:

  • Respond to your quote request, prepare estimates, and coordinate site surveys
  • Coordinate with manufacturers, suppliers, and trade partners on your specific project (only on a need-to-know basis)
  • Send you the quote and follow up on revisions or scheduling
  • Manage active projects from drawing approval through installation closeout
  • Maintain business records (invoices, warranty, insurance) per CRA and B.C. regulatory requirements

4. Who we share it with

We share project-relevant information with manufacturers and suppliers when it's necessary to fulfill your quote or project — for example, sending an architect's drawing set to Vinyltek (our Cortizo distributor) to confirm a system spec or lead time. We share only what's needed for the task at hand, and we ask those partners to handle your information with the same care we do.

We use the following third-party services to run the business. Each handles only the data needed for its purpose, under contract:

  • Google Workspace (email and document storage)
  • QuickBooks Online (invoicing and accounting)
  • Dropbox (CAD file storage)
  • [Form-handling provider — Formspree / Netlify / Worker — to be added when implemented]
  • [Auth/portal provider — Supabase or similar — to be added when implemented]
  • [Analytics provider — Plausible / GA4 — to be added when implemented]

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with marketing or advertising networks.

5. Where it's stored

Most of our records are stored in Canada or in the United States by our service providers. When we have a choice, we prefer Canadian data residency. If you have a strong preference for Canadian-only storage of your project files, let us know and we'll accommodate where we can.

6. How long we keep it

We keep project records (quotes, drawings, photos, communications) for as long as the project is active, plus the warranty period, plus the period required by CRA and provincial regulators (typically seven years for tax and business records). Older records may be retained in archived form for warranty reference. You can ask us to delete records that are no longer required — see "Your rights" below.

7. How we protect it

Email and document storage are protected by the security standards of our service providers (Google Workspace, Dropbox, QuickBooks Online). Access to your project records is limited to the Catalyst team members working on your project. We don't store payment card numbers ourselves — payment is processed through our accounting platform's secure channels.

No system is perfectly secure. If we ever discover a breach that affects your information, we'll notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by law.

8. Your rights (PIPEDA / PIPA)

You have the right to:

Send any of these requests to office@catalystglassandaluminum.com. We'll respond within 30 days per PIPEDA's standard.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

We do not use tracking cookies. We do store a single non-tracking item in your browser's localStorage: your light/dark theme preference, so the site remembers your choice between visits. You can clear this at any time through your browser settings.

10. Children

Our services are intended for businesses and adult homeowners. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, contact us and we'll delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the business evolves — for example, when we add a new service provider or change how we handle a particular type of information. Material changes will be flagged at the top of this page. The "Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
